Zimbabwe ‘keeper breaks a 90-year old unwanted record in Tests

Clive Madande, the Zimbabwean wicketkeeper, set an unwanted record during the one-off Test match against Ireland in Belfast on Friday. The 24-year-old, who had a challenging debut after being dismissed for a duck on the first day, conceded 42 byes in a single innings, surpassing the previous record of 37 byes set by England’s Les Ames in 1934. Ames, considered one of the greatest wicketkeeper-batsmen in cricket history, had conceded those byes against Australia at The Oval.
