Yale sees 14% drop in early applications, admits 10.8% for class of 2029

Yale College admitted 10.8 percent of early applicants for the Class of 2029, with 728 students accepted from 6,729 early action applications. This marks one of the lowest early acceptance rates in Yale’s history. The Class of 2029 is the first to apply under Yale’s new test-flexible policy, and admissions data reflect a 14 percent drop in early applications. Yale also continues to reject more early applicants, moving away from deferring decisions. Regular decisions will be announced on March 27, 2025.
