Cambridge Dictionary has added 3,200 new words and phrases this week, enhancing its lexicon with internet slang terms like ‘boop,’ ‘the ick,’ ‘chef’s kiss,’ and ‘scicomm.’ According to Cambridge Dictionary’s publishing manager, Wendalyn Nichols, these additions hold the promise of longevity, demonstrating the natural evolution of language. The online gaming also inspired several new entries in the dictionary.
