Steve Smith breaks Steve Waugh’s record

Steve Smith ended his 18-month century drought with a brilliant 100 against India on Day 2 of the third Test at the Gabba. This is his 33rd Test century, surpassing Steve Waugh to become Australia’s second-highest century-maker, behind only Ricky Ponting (41). Smith reached the milestone after tea, having looked increasingly confident after passing fifty.
