BCCI Secretary Jay Shah recently addressed speculation about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s participation in the Duleep Trophy. Shah stated that the board does not consider it necessary for these senior players to participate, emphasizing the importance of workload management and injury prevention. He noted that, similar to practices in Australia and England, senior players are not always involved in domestic cricket to maintain their fitness for international duties. The BCCI aims to balance opportunities for emerging players while safeguarding key stars.
