ONOS to reduce India’s research cost by 18%, observes IIM Mumbai: How PM Modi’s scheme will transform our research ecosystem

The One Nation, One Subscription (ONOS) scheme, launching in January 2025, aims to reduce research costs by 18% and provide access to 13,000 e-journals from 30 international publishers. This initiative, supported by a Rs 6,000 crore budget, will benefit over 6,300 institutions across India, fostering innovation and increasing academic output. The scheme aligns with the National Education Policy and Prime Minister’s vision of advancing India’s research ecosystem, ensuring equitable access nationwide.
