NMC Releases Guidelines for CBME Curriculum: Here’s All You Need to Know

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued new guidelines for the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum, effective from the 2024-25 MBBS batch. The revised curriculum emphasizes outcome-based, patient-centric learning, ethical values, and communication skills through a new “AETCOM” module. Aimed at creating competent Indian Medical Graduates, the guidelines integrate subjects horizontally and vertically and focus on preparing students for real-life medical scenarios, aligning with global standards.
