The Karnataka government has increased MBBS course fees in private medical colleges by 10% for the 2024-25 academic year. Government quota seats will now cost Rs 1,40,621, while private seats will be Rs 11,88,161. This rise addresses rising operational costs but does not affect government medical college fees, which remain at Rs 50,000. The decision follows a request from private colleges for a higher increase and unresolved discussions on seat sharing and financial constraints.
