Johns Hopkins sells second D.C. office building for $17.5 million to Big Ten school

Johns Hopkins University has sold its second D.C. office building, located at 1619 Massachusetts Avenue NW, to Indiana University for $17.5 million. The 56,773-square-foot building will be transformed into a new D.C. campus for Indiana University, offering academic spaces, offices, and dorms for students. This sale follows Johns Hopkins’ 2023 consolidation in D.C. and comes after the university’s relocation to 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, part of a broader restructuring following financial setbacks, as reported by The Business Journals.
