Harvard, Yale, MIT and other elite US institutes under fire: Lawsuit alleges financial aid bias against students from divorced families

A lawsuit has been filed against 40 prestigious US private universities, including Harvard, Yale, and MIT, accusing them of overcharging students by using a financial aid methodology that includes noncustodial parents’ finances, penalizing students from divorced homes. The lawsuit, seeking $5 million in damages, claims this practice unfairly reduces financial aid and raises tuition costs.
