Abuse from football fans forces cancellation of cricket match in UK

A cricket match in Edinburgh was abandoned after football fans en route to a Rangers vs Manchester United friendly allegedly abused and assaulted Murrayfield DAFS Cricket Club players. Despite police presence, there was no intervention. Murrayfield DAFS expressed disappointment over the incident, citing sexist, homophobic, and racist abuse, along with physical assaults. The club plans to file a formal complaint with Police Scotland, who confirmed an investigation is underway. The match was part of the East of Scotland Cricket Association division seven.
