A tale of ‘identical’ hundreds in a Test match

In September 1982, former Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman Duleep Mendis made history by scoring identical centuries (105 runs) in both innings of a Test match against India. This unique feat remains unmatched in Test cricket. Despite the match ending in a draw, Mendis’ twin centuries stood out as the defining moment of the tour.
