Individuals with ties to US universities and who support pro-Palestinian causes have been detained amid the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. Officials labeled some protesters “pro-Hamas” following the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Invoking a rarely used statute to revoke visas, the administration has detained or deported over six people under claims of posing a foreign policy threat, recently confirmed.
