Silchar Medical College and Hospital in Assam has withdrawn its advisory restricting women’s movement on campus after backlash. The advisory aimed to enhance female safety in light of a recent tragic incident in Kolkata but was deemed overly restrictive. The Assam Chief Minister’s Office confirmed a new advisory will follow National Medical Commission guidelines soon.
