Jasprit Bumrah’s journey to becoming the world’s top Test bowler began with a chance encounter. John Wright, then-coach of Mumbai Indians, spotted Bumrah’s unique bowling action and raw pace during a domestic T20 match in 2013. Impressed by his attempt at 12 consecutive yorkers, Wright signed him immediately. Even Sachin Tendulkar recognized Bumrah’s potential early on.
