Mohammed Shami returned to competitive cricket after 360 days following an ankle injury, representing Bengal in the Ranji Trophy against Madhya Pradesh. Despite a modest first-day performance, Shami bowled ten overs without taking a wicket. Bengal was bowled out for 228, with Shahbaz Ahmed top-scoring with 92 runs.
